The closer Thanksgiving dinner gets, the more stressful it can seem. Cooking and cleaning for hours, only to have everything devoured in 10 minutes and even more cleaning to do. From preparing the turkey to baking the pies, there’s a lot that goes into creating a Thanksgiving feast. The whole day needs to mellow out.

A CBD-Infused Thanksgiving

If you are looking for ways to lower the stress level of Thanksgiving, consider cooking with CBD this year. Yes, cooking with CBD is on the rise, and if your family Thanksgiving tends to be infused with drama, infusing them with a little herbal therapy may help keep things under control. Cannabutter

Thanksgiving and tons of butter go hand in hand. Basting the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and rolls all need butter. So, switch out regular butter for some cannabutter. Not in every recipe, just in one or two, such as basting the turkey with cannabis-infused butter and adding some to the mashed potatoes.

The amount of cannabis is a suggestion, so consider everyone’s tolerance levels when you make your butter. Make it a couple of days in advance and test it out. That way, if you need to adjust anything, you’ll have time to do it.

Canna-Basted Turkey

Try this recipe if you know all your guests won't mind a little something extra in their Thanksgiving meal. Turkey and stuffing recipes already include a lot of herbs, so basting the turkey with cannabutter is a great way to add CBD to your meal. CBD often has a strong, herbal flavor that some people don’t care for. But blended with the sage, thyme, and other poultry seasonings, it is less noticeable. 

Work some cannabutter under the skin of your turkey and follow the directions on the package or use this recipe. After the turkey has been cooking for about an hour, you should have plenty of juices at the bottom of the pan. Use these juices to baste the turkey every 30 minutes.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Garlic mashed potatoes are already high on my list of Thanksgiving-feast needs, and adding a little cannabutter only makes them better. This garlic mashed potatoes recipe is my favorite, it doesn’t skimp on the garlic or the butter. It also includes a recipe for roasting your own garlic, which, believe me, you are going to want to do. The recipe calls for 3 tablespoons of butter, replace up to 1 of those tablespoons with cannabutter.

Bruschetta Drizzled with CBD-Infused Oil

If you don’t want to go all the way with your main dish, try serving a CBD-infused appetizer. This gives any guests who want the chance to opt-out. The fresh tomato and basil in this bruschetta are the perfect opener for any meal, especially one as heavy as Thanksgiving dinner tends to be. And the prep is a breeze. You can easily make a batch of topping and toast the baguette slices ahead of time.
