We all know that there are usually two different types of people, early risers and night owls. For some people, it may sound awful to get up while it‘s still dark outside and have no problem staying up late and sleeping in for a bit. For others, sleeping in makes them feel as though they’ve wasted the entire day and may feel unproductive. There’s certainly nothing wrong with being a night owl as people tend to do what is best for them, however, there are some advantages to waking up early.

Helps with Having a Healthier Diet

Early risers tend to eat breakfast more often. Eating breakfast can promote better eating habits throughout the day leading to individuals forming healthier diets. Getting up early also gives individuals the necessary time to prepare a healthy meal as people who wake up later may grab something quick or skip the meal altogether, not giving their body proper fuel for the day.

Promotes a Better Sleep Cycle

People that wake early tend to go to bed at a more reasonable time and usually stick to a schedule promoting better sleep habits. When you have a better sleep pattern your internal clock runs better allowing for a more peaceful and rested sleep. Most people who get up early tend to do this every day to not disrupt their pattern or have to reset their bodies.

Promotes Healthier Skin

Our skin is an organ that needs proper care to stay healthy. Getting enough sleep at night is important for your skin to rejuvenate and “rest”. Waking up early also gives you the time to better clean and hydrate your skin rather than quickly washing off yesterday’s make-up then right away reapplying before you walk out the door.

Gives You Extra Time

With life always seeming so busy, waking early in the morning gives you time to get things done that maybe you can’t get to later in the day. Whether you want to exercise, do some cleaning, read, or really just have some quiet alone time, this gives you the opportunity to do so. People with kids or other demanding jobs can wake before the daily chaos starts to be fully prepared to tackle the day.

Increases Productivity

Being able to get things done before anyone else is awake makes individuals feel accomplished and that leads to a person being more productive throughout the entire day. This also makes it to where most of your tasks are complete to give you more time to do what you want later in the day or spending quality time with people you love.

Can Improve Concentration

Getting up early can help your body and mind to better prepare, making for better concentration throughout the day. Knowing that you’ve already accomplished things on your daily to-do lists makes it where you can focus better on the rest of your tasks. People who rush out the door in the morning tend to be constantly thinking of the things they need to do and make it where they aren’t fully concentrating on certain things.

As you can see, there are many amazing benefits to waking up early. In the beginning, start slowly and try it for a few weeks and see for yourself the increased energy, positive attitude, and productivity that you will achieve. Waking up early is a great way to feel accomplished and can certainly lead to a more successful day and life.
