What is it about luxury skincare products that make us drool over them and spend all our money? The packaging, the FOMO that every beauty blogger uses it, or the promise of glass-like skin after the very first use. Whatever it is, I’m all for it, and every time I walk into a beauty store, my partner knows I’ll be splurging on my luxury skincare products with no regrets.
But, are they even worth it?

When to Splurge on Skincare Products
Okay, I don’t just throw my money at the latest skincare product Kiley Jenner launched. And, I’m not spending my entire paycheck on the “best-sellers” section. When it comes to skincare, I’m 100% that nerd who looks at the ingredients, studies, and reviews.
When They Have Proof
While an up and coming beauty brand won’t have the resources to go through clinical trials, an established brand will. When you read about these luxury skincare products, look for those with clinical trials, the research behind the ingredients, and so on. Those are the brands worth the splurge.
When the Ingredients Make Sense
Small brands can’t fund studies, but you can learn more about the ingredients in their products. The most important thing you’ll ever do as a consumer is learning how to read ingredient lists. Look for tried-and-true ingredients proven to work. Ingredients like vitamin C and E, or Retinol, have years of research behind them; go for products that include them. And remember, the ingredient lists always show them in order of amount present.
A Word from GR8NESS
This one is coming from my heart. Before you go and buy a $100+ serum promising to cure your acne, do some research, take time to read the reviews, or ask for a sample. There’s nothing more heartbreaking than spending money on a luxury skincare product that doesn’t end up doing much of anything for your skin.
