VR Fitness Trends
Console companies have lined up their efforts to be on top throughout the past ten years, many of them failing as the trend struggled to keep traction. Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, PS3, and PS4 are among those that still come recommended today.
The New Fitness Video Games
Among the newest innovations is the Nintendo Switch’s upgrade to a device that features a ring that the user holds onto, somewhat resembling a steering wheel, or a Pilates wheel if you’re into that. It belongs to a program called Ring Fit Adventure, which is an action-RPG game.
But the latest trend is full-blown virtual reality devices that are connected to equipment such as stationary bikes and other weight training machines. The appeal is the landscapes, convenience, and the prospect of feeling as though you aren’t working out.
There are options for those who like to bike, box, or working out with a distraction and even fly. Of course, there is the trend factor, as well that’s keeping new releases relevant. The test of time will tell if virtual reality fitness will be a lasting trend.
