Motivation is accessible when written into a profound quote, posted up on a wall, or spoken from someone you admire. You hear or see something, and it inspires a wheel to turn within you. For some people, it’s enough for an amount of time. The secret to lasting motivation? Consistent consciousness. Sourcing motivation looks simple, but it’s not. The kind of motivation that carries you through when you feel most unable is an inner resilience that one cultivates.
Your friends at GR8NESS don’t exactly subscribe to the airbrushed, polished, or edited version of being fit that doesn’t show what happens behind the scenes. In our space, we recognize that getting to the finish line takes a certain grit and an immense ability to surface motivation when you need it most. We recognize that when it comes to motivation—there is no finish line. It’s a self-sustained resource that can be influenced by outside things, but fundamentally comes from within.
If we could present a few things to trigger motivation in our readers, that is our goal. However, in understanding the mechanics of motivation, we know that supplying you with continuous motivation is an endeavor we cannot complete ourselves.
That said, we hope this space provides you with the buds and seeds of motivation that will lead you to find what will motivate you over time.
Here in this space, tackling the commodity of motivation is well, our motivation. There are different levels of motivation and all kinds of ways to go about harnessing it.
What motivates us today is different than what may drive us years down the road, and sometimes it can change in a catalytic moment. One thought or opinion might realign our motivations altogether. Sometimes, when power strikes, we don’t see it coming. We’re almost surprised by sudden urges, and we reflect on how we didn’t feel the motivation before. It’s a peculiar thing.
While the variables that motivates each person will often change, one constant remains. If a person pays conscious attention in searching for motivation, they are more likely to find it than if they were dormant waiting to be found by motivation.
Refueling your motivation and consciousness go hand in hand. That is why in this section, you’ll find pieces that help bridge the gap a lack of consciousness can bring to trying to get fit.
