If you haven’t heard anything about CBD in the past few years, you’ve been living under a rock. CBD products have taken the wellness and lifestyle industry by storm. Today can find CBD-infused everything, even pet-friendly CBD products.
At GR8NESS, we’re all about self care and wellness. We understand that CBD is a complex subject you want to learn more about. From what happens to your body to how your body reacts to CBD and everything in between, we’ve talked about it all.
But, if you’ve read any of our CBD-related stories, you know we emphasize the differences between CBD and THC. Why? Because both compounds are often used interchangeably, even though they’re two completely different things.
On one hand, you have cannabidiol (CBD), which is a chemical compound extracted from the hemp variation of the cannabis plant. The tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) also comes from marijuana variation of the cannabis plant, the one that contains the psychoactive compound responsible for the high sensation people who use THC experience.
Both affect the body very differently, both are used to treat various conditions, and are reported to be helpful in relieving the symptoms of a myriad of ailments.
CBD helps with inflammation, pain, and anxiety. THC helps with muscle spasticity, insomnia, and glaucoma. Research says CBD has little to no side effects, although its long-term use is still being studied. THC does carry some side effects, primarily related to the psychoactive properties found in the compound; most side effects are only temporary though.
With the constant debate surrounding these popular compounds, we wanted to let the GR8NESS community set the record straight.
If you’ve tried CBD and THC before, what are your thoughts? Which one do you prefer? Why? Join the GR8 survey below and let your voice be heard by our community.
