Detoxing Recipes for Breakfast: Cinnamon Banana Smoothie

In the morning, your body needs time to get going, switch the solids for a smoothie, so you don't overwhelm it.

Ingredients:

  • 150g no-fat vanilla yogurt or Greek yogurt
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/4 tbsp ground cinnamon, plus extra to serve

Directions:

Blend all ingredients using a blender until smooth. Sprinkle more cinnamon on top, perhaps add some banana rounds, and enjoy!

Red berries pack high levels of antioxidants that can help your body stay balanced and in harmony.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1/4 cup blackberry
  • 1/4 cup raspberry
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 Greek yogurt

Directions:

If having a smoothie every morning is not your thing, try an overnight oatmeal recipe instead. Multiply this recipe when you're meal prepping to be ready every morning.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup steel-cut oats
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 2 tbsp applesauce
  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp dried fruit
  • 3/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp walnuts
  • Pinch sea salt

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in a Mason jar or a container. Store overnight in the fridge. Enjoy cold or heated.

Detoxing Recipes for Lunch: Greens + Edamame & Beets Salad

Have a protein-packed lunch without reaching for animal protein. Edamame is a GR8 Food to tap into when you're trying to stay vegan or detox your gut. It has as much protein as two whole eggs.

Ingredients:

  • 4 small beets, spiralized
  • 1/2 cup greens
  • 2 cups edamame
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp aminos
  • 1 1/2 sesame oil
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger
  • 2 scallions
  • 1 tbsp basil

Directions:

Place the greens in your favorite salad bowl. Add the edamame and beet spirals. In another bowl, mix the rice vinegar, aminos, sesame oil, fresh ginger, scallions, and basil. Pour your vinaigrette over your salad and enjoy!

Detoxing Recipes for Lunch: Kimchi Noodles

Tap into the power of kimchi, its antioxidants, its probiotics, and its potent flavor. You can also make these in advance and pop them out of the fridge when ready.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon paste
  • 1 tsp gochujang
  • 1/2 cups cabbage
  • 1/2 cups mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup kimchi
  • 3 oz shrimp
  • 1/2 cup rice noodles
  • 1/2 radish
  • 1 tsp cilantro
  • 1 slice lime
  • 1 cup hot water

Directions:

Start by mixing the chicken bouillon and gochujang at the bottom of a container. Then, layer the rice noodles, cabbage, mushrooms, kimchi, and shrimps. Add the radish slices, cilantro, and lime. When ready to eat, add the cup of boiling water and shake well. Let stand for a minute or two before enjoying it.

Here's an easy lunch you can eat on-the-go. You can mix-and-match the different veggies you choose to keep your lunches exciting.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup bell peppers

  • 2 tbsp spices
  • Hummus
  • Pita pocket

Directions:

Detoxing Recipes for Dinner: Honey Garlic Salmon

End the day with an easy recipe that will make everyone think it came from a restaurant. Not to mention, this foil-pack version means you don't have to clean many dishes afterward.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound salmon
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp cilantro
  • 1 lemon sliced

Directions:

In a bowl, combine the honey, garlic, lemon juice, pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, and paprika. Rub the salmon with this mixture. Place the salmon in a foil packet, drizzle the olive oil, and place the lemon slices around the salmon. Close the foil packet and bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Open the foil packet and cook on broil for about 3 minutes or until the salmon is golden.

Detoxing Recipes for Dinner: Spaghetti Squash with Chicken

Stay away from foods that can inflame your gut, aka white foods, aka pasta. Luckily, there are many alternatives like spaghetti squash to help satisfy your pasta craving without damaging your gut.

Ingredients:

  • 1 spaghetti squash
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 onion
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 3 cups cherry tomato
  • 8 oz baby spinach
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:

Start by cooking the chicken breast, seasoning with just salt and pepper. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Place the spaghetti squash in the oven and cook for about 40 minutes. Once you take it out, use a fork to shred the spaghetti squash. In a medium skillet, heat the chicken breast, garlic cloves, cherry tomatoes, and spinach, using a bit of olive oil. Then, place this mix over the spaghetti squash and enjoy it.

  • 2 cups broccoli

  • 1 small sweet potato
  • 3/4 cup quinoa
  • 1/2 cup vegetable broth
  • 2 cups kale
  • 1/2 lemon juice

Directions:

Start by cooking the quinoa using the vegetable broth. On the side, start roasting your veggies by placing them on a sheet pan and baking them for 10 minutes. In a medium bowl, drench the kale with the lemon juice. When all the elements are ready, pour the quinoa into a serving bowl, add the roasted veggies and kale. Finish with some fun toppings like avocado, lime juice, red pepper flakes, guac, hummus, or nuts.
