Nutrient deficiencies affect an estimated two billion people worldwide. Low dietary intake of vitamins or nutritionally essential minerals can result in various deficiency diseases. Without a diet fueled by nutrient-rich foods, it’s common for your body to not function at its best and eventually succumb to the effects of nutrient deficiencies.

Often at first, such deficiencies are not noticeable. In the long run, people start noticing symptoms ranging from weakness and tiredness to increased risk of cancer and reduced immune function. While most people can choose to find vitamin and mineral supplements on the market to help with severe nutrient deficiencies, the best way to prevent this from happening is by eating to fight deficiencies by adding more nutrient-rich foods in your daily diet.

If you’re struggling to keep your vitamins and mineral levels up, try incorporating these foods onto your plate today. Keep in mind, if you have extreme nutrient deficiencies, eating nutrient-rich foods alone won’t help your cause. You must seek out medical attention and work with your doctor to find a treatment plant.
