Finding your fitness groove is tough as it is. Everyone has got their challenges. If it’s not in having the time, it might be energy, if not energy—perhaps it’s a lack of know-how.

Trying a workout can feel like a gamble with your health. Alone, the anxiety of being unsure as to whether or not you’ll be able to handle it might be discouraging, if not debilitating. Do you have the motivation to work out but can’t?  How can you still go for it but still take it easy? Low impact training.

High-Intensity Who? When to Go for Low Impact

While high-intensity workouts are celebrated in fitness classes of all sorts, it’s important to consider that they are not a good fit for everyone. While reasons to avoid high-intensity training are mostly consistent with experiencing injury or alternative muscle or joint pain, there are other reasons to avoid them.

You Have Trouble with Form

Some workouts feel awkward upon trying them and require getting used to it. However, if you find that certain workouts cause you to feel pain in areas you don’t ordinarily feel pain in, it’s possible that you could be practicing improper form.

Improper form can happen easily. Engaging in low-impact workouts will help to build strength that will assist in your ability to complete the proper form as strength builds. 

You’re a Beginner

Those who do not have a regular fitness routine might find that high-intensity workouts are an uncomfortable overkill. Building up strength with low-impact fitness might be best for starting out.

You’re Over-training

On the flip side, those who train often and consistently might find their joints, ligaments, and even muscles struggling. These are signs of over-training, along with excessive fatigue and decreased performance.

For Those With Injuries

Low-impact workouts tend to be easier on the joints, ligaments, and bones. Dealing with an injury is never fun. Low-impact training can help.

If you’ve been injured, it’s normal to feel frustration about weight loss or fitness goals. It’s important to take care of your body, nonetheless, and ensure that you’re taking the proper precautionary and rehabilitative measures.

Give these low-impact fitness routines a try and see if you can integrate them into a regular routine.
