How to Get Free Stuff from Your Favorite Places

If you’re anything like me, you’re always looking for a great deal and figuring out how to get free stuff from your favorite places. I’m what you could call a “super saver.” There’s nothing I love more than coupons, sales, and of course, freebies, especially from my favorite stores.

After all, isn’t managing your finances a part of self-care? For me, it is. That’s why I’ve put together this list to help you score free stuff from the places you love.

1) Join Loyalty Programs

Many major retailers offer customer loyalty programs, and if one of your favorite places has one, definitely sign up. A lot of these loyalty programs work on a point-based approach. As you make purchases, points add up. Ultimately you can redeem them for freebies.

Loyalty programs are worth it at places like drug stores, grocery stores, and coffee shops that you frequent. These are places that you’re already spending money on things you need, so why not work towards some freebies while you’re at it?

2) Combine Coupons with Sales

While this can be a little more tedious, it’s entirely worth it. To effectively combine coupons with sales, scope out your local stores’ weekly flyers and ads. Then, look through their coupon books or digital coupon pages for ones that you can use with sales.

Additionally, search online for manufacturer coupons. These are coupons that are put out by the brand, not stores, yet stores are required to accept them. Find a good sale and a few good coupons, and you can get free stuff.

3) Let Places Know Your Birthday or Anniversary

Does your favorite restaurant provide a card with the check that asks for some basic information like your name, email, and birthday or anniversary? Fill it out! Restaurants often send their patrons birthday and anniversary emails, which sometimes include a coupon for a free dessert. Now you have a reason to visit your favorite dinner spot and get something for free.

4) Enter Influencer Programs

It’s 2020, and online influencer programs abound. Many of them give you free, full-sized products of your favorite brands in exchange for an online review. They require that you complete a short survey that details the brands and products you typically use and alert you when a match becomes available. You’ll get some of your favorite products at no-cost.

5) Online Surveys

Many data companies provide compensation in the form of gift cards in exchange for your thoughts and information on your purchasing habits. There is typically a minimum number of surveys that you must complete, and they can be time-consuming. But if you’re anything like me, you spend a lot of time scrolling through social media feeds anyways.

Take that time and complete some surveys instead. After a while, you’ll be eligible for a gift card to your favorite coffee spot or retailer.

Scoring Free Stuff

Some of the methods for scoring freebies take less effort than others, but if you’re dedicated to the game, you can get plenty of free offers. In addition to the tips above, read your favorite retailer’s newsletters, redeem free samples, and look for free events centered on your favorite activities.

You don’t have to spend a ton of money to get what you want.
