No one is immune to experiencing pain at one point or another. In fact, approximately one in four Americans have experienced pain lasting over 24 hours, according to the National Institute of Health. Yet, more often than not, the solution is to ignore it, wait for it to go away, or take any pain relief medication that’s available over the counter.
Here’s the thing, pain – especially pain you’ve experienced for an entire day or longer – should never be ignored and can actually be a cause for concern that merits medical attention. That’s not to say every pain is a valid reason to head over the emergency room. But as they say, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Even when pain is a very personal experience, you should still keep an eye for pain that’s a cause for concern.
The GR8NESS team has developed a short quiz to provide you with some guidance – not medical attention or advice – to help you understand the type of pain that’s considered a cause for concern because it’s probably the result of an underlying medical condition.
