Self-image is a concept that has been explored in a myriad of ways. Here, we’ll dive into the surrounding conversation apart from what doctors have to say about self-image, as well as the clinical data that concerns them.

We are, of course, not psychologists or doctors here at GR8NESS. Consider us a resource for breaking down various aspects of understanding the complicated material regarding the psychology of “self.”

In this space, we want to reach a bit further than the facts, and present things to consider surrounding the idea as a whole. We facilitate these conversations in the hope that they will draw you closer to understanding your self-image, or at the very least, have you asking questions about it. We know that a positive self-image is an invaluable and essential tool for being your GR8EST self.

Becoming who you are and settling into your authentic self is a practice, and no less can take some seriously hard work. It’s an intricate journey that is different for everyone. This section is to say that we’re here for you in that journey, and so glad to be. We’ll investigate what self-image is and entails, how it’s different from other aspects of understanding who we are, and what it looks like in real life.

Apart from that, you’ll be provided with tools to foster a positive self-image, and what to do if you feel you ultimately need to reestablish it.

Thinking of Self-Image

In considering self-image, it’s a piece of what makes up how we interpret who we are in the world. It relates to self-esteem and identity, but isn’t exactly the same. It is more about how we perceive ourselves, which is influenced in part by how we believe others perceive us.

This information then rivals the expectation of ourselves that we have. This expectation would be the self-image that you would find ideal, or aspire to have. The two are compared, and how far or close the two images are may contribute to the total conclusion that is your self-image.

Others may influence self-image, but in taking conscious control of it, your influence can be GR8TR. Helping to strengthen your influence is our motivation for providing this space to you, dear reader.

Each person on Earth lives life with two particular domains. There is the life that is externally lived through physical movement, and the life that is lived within the mind, internally. We are living in a time where there is more attention paid to the internal lives we lead than ever before.

Evolving Self-Image

We’re called to be our best selves for every corner of our lives. We live and fulfill expectations belonging to ourselves and others that we care for. Yet, more people are suffering from mental illness and conditions than ever recorded before. There are patterns in the history of mental health to note, and as research emerges, more and more to observe.

Here, you’ll be provided with the facts that pertain to various views and data in psychology, as well as additional information considering the science. Here at GR8NESS, we are all about the mind and how it works. We explore different perspectives in psychology, both conventional and holistic.

This is with the intention to bring you a range of information and perspectives to help you draw your own. As time goes on and you evolve with experience, your self-image will too. Today’s self-image is not always an indicator of tomorrow’s. Staying aware and conscious of your self-image is a constant practice. Think of us as your support.
