By now, you’ve heard the bad news: foods that are processed have made top marks on the naughty list.

Generally, people have an idea that processed refers to things like cake, cookies, chips, and all your other road trip faves in question. However, processed foods are everywhere, and sometimes it’s hard to spot them. In some cases, processed foods hide in plain sight with misleading packaging that preys on the general public’s confusion behind labels like “gluten-free,” and “whole-grain.”

So, what’s the fuss? I mean, we’re fine, right? We didn’t die from those extra five three cookies we had on movie night.

Yet, somewhere in our minds, lives on the relentless narrative voice that reminds us that we’ve got to face the facts when it comes to what we put in our bodies, and so I regretfully, but with the best of intentions present to you: the facts. Here are the health risks associated with consuming processed foods regularly and over time.
