Quiz: What’s Your Body Type?

To be remarkably frank, I hate the idea of body types. Our body type dictates almost everything: from the best diets to follow, to the best fashion styles, and the way we look at ourselves. Considering these factors, I’m going to help you figure out your body type.

However, I’m going to do so, to make you more comfortable and confident to embrace your silhouette, rather than work against it. Do we have a deal?

Before we move on, know that this foolproof method to find out your body type is not based on celebrities or models. It involves a little bit of math and a measuring tape.

Keep in mind that we’re focusing on four major body types. No matter your size, you can have any of these body types. It’s not about how much you weigh; it’s more about how your weight is distributed instead.

The Basics

Before you take the quiz to find your body type, grab your measuring tape and a notebook for taking notes. The first step is measuring yourself.

Shoulders: Enlist a friend to help you measure from the tip of one shoulder all the way around. Do your best to keep the measuring tape high around the shoulders. You should feel it’s about to slip off.

Bust: Wrap the measuring tape across the fullest part of your bust. Do your best to keep the tape level. Don’t pull the tape either. It should feel slightly loose.

Waist: Measure the smallest part of your natural waistline, this is just above the belly button.

Hips: Place the measuring tape below the hip bone, wrap it around the largest part of your butt. Don’t pull the tape. It should feel loose here, as well.

Now that you have your measurements, it’s time to take the quiz.
