Self-image is all about how we value and perceive ourselves. Over the years, we all build our self-image based on opinions and beliefs. Sadly, it appears we’re not doing a good job at building a healthy self-image. In fact, 85 percent of the world’s population struggles with low self-esteem.
Think about it for a minute. How many times have you been overly critical of yourself? How many times do you downplay your positive qualities? How many times have you used words like silly, ugly, or fat to describe yourself? All those are indicators of low self-esteem.

This needs to change. Low self-esteem can negatively impact your quality of life. From having constant relationship problems to becoming a perfectionist, ignoring the importance of self care, and sometimes even having self-harming behaviors. The truth is that the reasons why we have poor self-esteem vary widely. Some people had unhappy childhood experiences, others were bullied throughout school, some people struggled with abusive relationships, mental health disorders like anxiety come into play as well, even medical conditions like chronic pain can result in poor self-esteem.
