The tools available for improving mental health have expanded. Seeking assistance used to be limited to the quintessential image of the psychologist talking to the patient on a long, cold couch.

Today, digital measures for therapy can be taken via an app, internet chatting, and more. One modern feature that merges new-age-out-of-the-box thinking with a treasured tool of time (aka, handwritten reflection), are therapeutic worksheets.

What are CBT Worksheets?

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) refers to a goal-structured form of psychotherapy. It helps rewire patterns in the brain to improve behavioral response. The idea is to shift the thinking, associations, and psychological patterns that are causing trouble for the patient. It’s a thorough examination of what you think, what you do, and how they are related.

Mental healthcare professionals who engage in cognitive behavioral therapy practices use CBT worksheets. These types of sheets work for collecting and organizing the data that comes about from CBT.

CBT Worksheets: Off the Paper

They’re helpful for mental health concerns like depression, eating disorders, PTSD, anger, anxiety, addiction, and more. Children, teens, and adults can use them.

CBT worksheets are to break down and simplify information about whatever concern is at hand. They work to move complex ideas from the minds of patients to paper. For example, you might find a whole workbook dedicated to problems with anxiety. Workbooks can be an invaluable means for mapping out a strategy that is psychologically responsible and logical.

The following resources for CBT worksheets are free and accessible.

  • Therapist Aid: Find worksheets on coping skills, the grieving process, and more.
  • Living CBT: Find worksheets on creating confidence, panic attack sensations, identifying trauma, and more.
  • GetSelfHelp: Find worksheets on increasing motivation, mindfulness, accepting anxiety, and more.
  • Veronica Walsh: Find worksheets on disputing negative thinking, having a low frustration tolerance, and more.

A Note From GR8NESS

Keep in mind that many of these are for clinical use. However, they are no less resourceful for anyone who wishes to understand better their mind and how they can live better.

Becoming free of mental illness or condition is never something you need to work out alone. Limitations when it comes to healthcare are, at times, unavoidable. The internet contains many free resources for bettering your mental health. As always, if you believe you might be struggling with a mental health condition, seek professional assistance as soon as possible, and know that change is possible.
