If you haven’t gotten into the contents of the Kama Sutra yourself, you may have heard of it. How do you feel about the ancient teachings of the well-known book on sex, love, and intimacy? Some might feel it’s a must for seeking fulfillment in pleasure. Others might find it uncomfortable, outdated, or strange. Let us know your position in our poll below.

What’s the Kama Sutra?

The Kama Sutra is an ancient Sanskrit text that details a guide to sexual techniques, human sexual behavior, and love.

It features illustrations of positions for a couple to contort themselves into that ultimately work to break the barriers of intimacy and establish a connection without limiting boundaries. The idea is to explore opportunities to expand the intricacies between two people in a way that brings them closer through sensual and erotic nature.

Why the Kama Sutra is Relevant Today

Considering that it could have been referred to contemporary literature over 2,000 years ago, some of its teachings may feel or be regarded as archaic. No less, many of the principles can still be applied to relationship dynamics and have the potential to benefit sexual health today.

In the digital era, the place of physical touch in relationships has shifted. Technology has affected the way that love is expressed. Much of interaction and exchange happens digitally, removing the necessity to be aware of and understand body language as well as nonverbal cues. It’s possible that using the Kama Sutra as a resource can help to improve the quality of the interactions between two people who share intimacy.
