Everybody poops. Yet, most of us feel shy to talk about it with our doctor, unless something scary is happening. While talking about poop is not the ideal dinner table conversation, it is an entirely normal and essential bodily function. Not to mention, your stool can tell you a lot about your current health state.
Get over the grossness of talking about it. Paying attention to your bowel movements is important. First, your bowel habits are a strong indicator of your digestive health. Any changes in color, shape, and texture of your stool are alerting signs of infections, digestive issues, or in some cases, serious health problems.

The Bristol Stool Chart
For this GR8 Quiz, we’re going to focus on the Bristol Stool Chart, a tool developed at the University of Bristol to help patients talk more easily about their stool with their doctors. The chart classifies your stool in seven different types based on shape, size, and texture.
Then, we’ll look at the different colors and what those can be telling you about your health. Add to that frequency and length of time, and you should be able to have a comprehensive look at what your stool is trying to tell you.
